- 2 March 1998: Began work on a page about portrait miniatures. This won't be added to the main index until I have a few more pictures to put up, and finish the description of how they are painted.

- 9 September 1997: Added a Public Ale-House Licence from the time of Charles I.
- 27 August 1997: Added a bookshelf image to my main index, which I created with POV-Ray. It looks so nice, now I'll have to make images for all the other categories of the index. Oh well.
- 27 August 1997: Over the past few days, reorganised the Computer Typography page. Added information files for the JSL Ancient and JSL Blackletter fonts, and finally updated my FTP index after more than a year's worth of neglecting it.
- 20 August 1997: Added a Letter from Queene Elizabeth I to the Lord Mayor of London.
- 20 August 1997: Created a set of old-style large capitals for reproducing period texts. Altered The Cobler Turned Courtier to use these capitals. Also put them into The Discription of a Maske (a work in progress). Unfortunately, because my ISP's storage has a granularity of 4K, 26 tiny graphics files totalling under 6K of data actually take up over 100K of my disk quota. :-(
- 19 August 1997: Added page on Computer Typography, making available a just-completed font in both TrueType and Adobe Type I formats. The font is a re-creation (not a revival) of a typeface used in the 1600's, and contains both roman and italic versions.
- 18 August 1997: Added Advice to Young Gentlemen to the Ballads page. Can't find a date for it; it came from a microfilm collection of early English books after 1600, and the ballad isn't listed in the Analytical Index to the Stationers' Register.
- 17 July 1997: A count of HTML files indicates that I now have over 300 pages on my site. Every page was created by hand, using the OS/2 System Editor or Windows Notepad, with the exception of the 112 individual dance instruction pages in Playford's The Dancing Master. (To reduce the tedium of writing these pages, I created a special markup language designed around Playford's tabular format and wrote a C program to turn that markup language into HTML and add all of the headers, footers, graphics and links.)
- 17 July 1997: Added the "Who Am I" section to my Homepage.
- 14 July 1997: Updated the Site Hierarchy file after nearly five months of undocumented changes. I've tried to reconstruct those changes using the files' date stamps, but it will be incomplete at best.

- 23 May 1997: Created a directory for ancient ballads and entered some ballads over the next few days.
- 20 May 1997: Removed paragraphs from Funeral Teares and its notes page which complained about my ISP's unwillingness to fix their Web server so that it sent the proper MIME type for MIDI files. Also removed similar paragraphs from the index and notes pages of Playford's The Dancing Master.
- 8 May 1997: Created The Interocitor Homepage, after the infamous device from the movie This Island Earth.
- 1 May 1997: Added pages for the IRTC submission form and readme file which accompanied the image "A Schollers Tools".

- 19 February 1997: Fixed a couple of typos in The Cobler turned Courtier.

- 27 January 1997: Added the transcript of the visit paid to me by the Scientologists.
- 26 January 1997: Added a page of photos of a visit the Scientologists paid to me at my home.
- 21 January 1997: Added the Coroner's Report on the death of Lisa McPherson, a Scientologist. The Church of Scientology refused to cooperate with the police investigating her death, and gave conflicting stories about how she died.
- 7 January 1997: Added COMPLAINCE REPORT [sic], DAILY REPORT, and an untitled document about "Project Weaver's Needle" to the Church of Scientology documents directory. The document index and Cazares Operations index were updated to include the new documents.
- 5 January 1997: Finally got around to writing the Java applet for the Lute Fret Calculator page.
- 10 December 1996: Altered a couple of words on the Book of Mozilla page, and added to it an image of the spine of the actual book (Liber Mozillae).
- 10 December 1996: Updated Geek Code on index page and the explanation of my Geek Code to reflect my advancing age. So it took me over a month to remember to do that; they do say that memory is the second thing to go when you get old...
- 10 December 1996: Added pages for the Lute Fret Calculator and the modern translation of Dowland's formula. The Java version of the calculator has not yet been completed, so the page has not been added yet to the index, Java or music pages.
- 20 November 1996: Added pages for the Banner and Freaky applets. Added a main Java index page, as well.
- 19 November 1996: Added the LED Banner applet to the top of the main Index page.
- 15 November 1996: Created the What's New page (this page).
- 15 November 1996: Added a page about the Tenctonese Alphabet.
- 13 November 1996: Added a placeholder graphic at the top of the main Index page. This graphic will soon be replaced by a Java applet which scrolls out messages as though it were an LED sign. When I have the time to finish writing it, that is...
