recipe runaround
Alton Brown and fish

Don't believe Rachael Ray, they do not have fresh bay leaves readily available in grocery stores. At least not down here. What am I going to do now, giggly girl? You and your "EVOO"! And you don't have to tell us every time that "EVOO" is extra virgin olive oil! We know already! (Recipe I'm referring to is here.)

I hate how she always says EVOO. As much as I love $40 a day and her regular cooking show, that just fires me up.
I also love your Alton Brown icon. Have you read his blog??
I am rather impressed, however, by her magic cupboard, that holds exactly what she needs, but ONLY that. The fake-o fifties decor of the kitchen, hiding a real oven and fridge and a microwave makes me want to ralph. I agree with you--the way she tells us, it's not just EVOO--It's EVOOExtraVirginOliveOil (all one word). She just wants to be slapped, in my book.
Rachael Ray is adorable. Sometimes I turn on the TV just to watch her. And she's quirkily charming, for a while. Her shtick wears thin after awhile, though. The giggling, the wacky lingo... I'd hate to be married to her. I have a feeling I'd smother her with a pillow at some point.
I know exactly what you mean, Fred. In small doses, (say, one episode of 30 Minute Meals) her giggle is cute, but having to have that around 24-7? I don't think so.
Mary and I refer to her as "Perky Butt" because she is unfailingly perky, and she's a butthead. Much as I hate to say it her show works for the LCDLowestCommonDenominator that FoodTV seems to be shooting for these days.
Name a station that isn't aiming for LCD? *sigh*
I just saw her on TV for the first time today and the EVOO thing was wacky! And man her stuff may be low carb but very oily!
Did anyone see the Good Eats where he made sausage? As much as I love me some good old pork fat, the casing made me feel kinda icky.
Eww, I've missed the sausage production episode, but she sure does seem to add "EVOO" to everything.
