More overtime in the QA lab today. My fellow engineers seem to chafe at doing this kind of mindless work, but I'm having loads of fun.

Here's what the new Florida licenses look like:

Much nicer than the old ones...

The non-driver ID cards are similar in style:

But who would forge one of these?

Under-21 licenses and ID cards are similar, but are presented in a vertical format. And they're all so much nicer looking than the old ones.

Now why the heck did I get the old-style license when I got a new one the first week of Nov?

Depends. If you went in to a physical location to get your license, you were supposed to receive the old style. If you renewed over the Internet, you were supposed to get the new style.

The branch offices won't get the new style until probably sometime in February.

Now, me, I renewed over the Internet, the USPS lost my license, so I had to go in and renew in person, which means I got the old style. But I asked today, and they said if you really want the new style card and are willing to pay $10 for it, it's legal to go online and fill out a change-of-address request, and put in your current address.
