Days of Blam Blam, Years of Kablooie
hat is vogue

While we were watching the movie "Fletch" in Spanish the other night, we discovered a raccoon trying to break into the house via a window in the TV room. Do you suppose raccoons have much success with that ploy? My soup-ervisor reports that raccoons break into her house on a regular basis simply by coming in through the cat door.

I noted that Spanish is such a happy language that it seemed difficult to convey the sarcasm of the English version of the movie. "Fletch" is one of my favorite flicks, so I was hoping to pick up a few phrases in Spanish. I would probably have more success with that scheme if the movie was "16 Candles".

Raccoons, yeah! They used to break into the upper floor of the house we lived in (we were in the basement) through the landlady's cat door and gorge themselves on her cat food and chase her cats round the living room and knock over her lamps. And they would go through the garbage. They lived in a big beautiful tree in the back yard, so she couldn't really get rid of them. We loved them.
I've never seen racoons entering a building, but once while we were camping in the Keys, the local racoons unzipped the tent next to our camper. They proceeded to open the cooler and pull stuff out. Bryan and I lured them out by offering them Ritz crackers. We then got caught by the park ranger, who thought the whole thing was funny. (It's illegal to feed the wildlife in state parks.) We have a photo of me sitting at a picnic table with racoons all around me.
