Highlights from the
TNX-L Mailing List
(Part 2)

This is an HTML conversion of a series of messages to the Usenet newsgroup alt.religion.scientology, which posted the highlights of the "private" Scientologists-only mailing list, TNX-L, the contents of which were leaked to the "wog" world by some unknown member of the list.

Although most of the messages in the entire set are of little interest to non-Scientologists, most of the ones excerpted here show quite well the face that Scientology hides behind the mask it presents to the rest of the world.

One critic of Scientology, David C. Smith, waded through the entire set of messages from 1995 to sift out these gems:

Just tallied up the current membership and we stand at 184! Let's hit 200 this week. I wonder what St. Hill size for a mailing list is ;-).
- Stephen T. Porter

Crime statistics in Los Angeles were down about 20% across the boards last year! Specifically, homicides were down 21%. This is tremendous news, actually. And since we know hardly any other group on the planet is doing anything effective about society's situations, I think we should take a win!
- Larry C. Gentry

There are many very remarkable and unique aspects to Flag, some of which are many times taken entirely for granted. For instance, did you know that it's possible to spend *months* here without once leaving the Flag Land Base? Think about that for a sec and get the idea of being in an environment where *ALL* you are surrounded by is theta. Nothing to distract one from the magical application of LRH's legacy that occurs every second of the day. Other than the Freewinds, there's nothing like it on the planet.

It is no longer necessary to KR a.r.s. This group has been KR-ed enough and is monitored by OSA INT on a daily basis. It is also a waste of time and actually AGAINST policy to be in contact with them. I was given a short hat on this at the Flag Ethics office, prompted by OSA Int. The reference is DEAD FILE, Entheta Letters.... As the proper terminals from the Church are now taking (legal) action, our work and concern of the past has been very fruitful and a.r.s has full attention of Int Management. We can and should ignore a.r.s.

On-purpose Scientologist staff member must go to FLAG to train up as an auditor. Must sell her (great) car first. Awesome deal. Excellent condition. 1991 Nissan 240SX

I am looking for an expert witness that can help me and is willing to testify in court in a Copyright issue. This *has* to be a USA based non-scientologist.

This person needs to be aware of trademark and copyright issues in general, but be very knowledgeable in the area of newsgroups, the flow of messages onto newsgroups and how USENET transports postings through the Internet. An objective viewpoint and expertise in the USENET area are only thing required.

I don't feel that we should be too concerned about the religious right.

Remember, Scientology is the religion of religions.
- Chris

People today recognize that morals and ethics are essential to survival, and they will join a religion in the future. Getting out our message out to these people will bring them to Scientology.

Yes, there will be objections from some religious folks, but realize that 97 1/2% of the members of other religions are not anti-social and can be handled.

Scientology is a religion and it is the religion of religions.
- Chris

Thing is, Scientology is an "inclusive" religion. We don't get involved in a games condition as regards religions, or shouldn't. As long as we can stay pan-determined in this area individuals will see there is no contradiction between what they know to be true and what is in Scientology. This is not the Crusades, where we are trying to destroy the Infidels. We've seen that approach doesn't work.
- Tom Lauricella

Dear friends,
today we had a bad suprise.
All newpapers and TV featuring about Michael Jackson giving all his money to CoS in his new testament, and how bad we are, and so on.
Our LRH PPRO asked me to try to know more about what seems the source of all this stuff.
The first newspaper publishing the article - and HOW did they know about Michael's testament???? - has been an English one, not an American.
He told me it was the Daily Star, I think it's a scandalistic paper.
Anyway, if anyone has more data about what is happening, about what Jackson really did, and how did they discover about, please do let me know.
We just had an important win here in Italy, but a single bad article like today usually causes more entheta that the theta created by our wins.
The war isn't over, I'm afraid.
Let's keep being alert.
- Paolo

RE UK Internet Magazine .NET (known as "dot-net")
Issue No. 5 for April 1995 - ALERT.

Just settling down for a quiet read of .NET (well known UK Internet magazine) when I noticed what looks like squirrel OT3 data quoted from a.r.s. on pages 10 and 11. It is an entheta article by a Peter Wilson .

I've CC'd this TNX message to go to OSA UK so they can take any appropriate action.

I know several other TNXers read this mag. IF YOU ARE NOT OT3, THEN DO NOT READ IT. Stuff like this messes up your case. I just ended up myself having an HCO sec-check because of similar stuff I was silly enough to read on a.r.s. The MAA was not impressed!
- Mike Phillips

I EMPHASIZE Mike's point. I *am* OT4. The data I have seen on a.r.s. is dangerous because it is NOT THE SOURCE DATA. It is squirrel "tech", usually.

DO NOT READ IT. And if you have, by mistake, or otherwise, report to the MAA, so the sit can be written up and handled standardly.
- Ken Harthun

Excellent point! When I sent my own E-mail to NBC about the DATELINE show I deliberately used the word "paranoid", even though it's a psych term, to describe my mother's behavior because I knew it would *communicate* to wogs who were used to psych jargon. ("PTS", while of course more technically accurate, simply wouldn't communicate the message fully even if defined in the message.)
