Trial set on trespassing charge

(St. Petersburg Times -- March 17, 1976)

St. Petersburg Times Staff Writer

DUNEDIN -- The trial of Bob Snyder, former radio talk show host who was arrested last week by Dunedin police and charged with trespassing on the complaint of representatives of the Church of Scientology, has been set for 9:45 a.m.j April 1 in Dunedin Municipal Court.

Snyder appeared before City Court Judge Gilbert R. Levy Tuesday morning and asked for time to arrange for counsel to aid in his defense.

The complaint stems from a visit he said he made Feb. 28 to King Arthur Courts, a condominium-apartment complex on State Road 580. A portion of the complex has been leased in connection with the Church of Scientology and United Churches of Florida.

Snyder said last week that his visit was in connection with an investigation he is conducting into the church's activities in preparation for a public lecture he plans to present March 25 at the Clearwater campus of St. Petersburg Junior College.

Ted Froyland, an attendant at the Dunedin complex and a church employe, signed an affidavit charging that Snyder "did . . . willfully trespass on posted land."
